It’s been nearly a year since London’s lords of loud released the album CHESS WITH THE REAPER, and it feels much sooner. Such is the HALBERD sound, there is a timeless quality that is easy to get lost in.
Well, another (nearly) year has passed and the five fiends of fevered frash drop a healthy dollop of the fast stuff under the banner, ATTENTION PLEASE!

Here are a quintet of new tracks with a little bit of hot sauce for good measure.
It opens with the title track, a fiery bit of pseudo rap metal which follows with GET OUT, STAY OUT. This is where HALBERD deliver their trademark fury and fight to the pressure cooker of thrash aggression.

Thrash is the everyman against “the” man, and the track TAXMAN is an ode to the most odious of necessities. Sharp and to the point. If you want subtlety, listen to Enya or something…

THE NARRATIVE offers a galloping charge that, again, is a HALBERD modus operandi. Opening with grand chords and silky leads, it explodes into some nifty metal tricks.

All, so far, is brilliantly belligerent thrash, but it would seem that there is one last trick left to pass on. MAN HUNT could confidently be placed among material from Machine Head or Trivium for prestigious songwriting prowess and technical aptitude.
This song alone is worth the entry price, but to have four anthems of anger done so deftly dangerous before is the crown jewels.

For those lucky mother huggers in and around the English capital, you have a local band that is shoulder to shoulder with giants. To the rest of the world, you can enjoy one of the most polished underground thrash acts yet to slay your stages in HALBERD.
