Melodic Thrash/Groove Metal
UK

Released 3rd of April, 2026

London metal has enjoyed being in rude health for a considerable time, and it seems there isn’t any letting up some time soon.
I’ve mentioned the London Metal Coalition a number of times before. The non-profit collective of over seventy artists from the capital and it’s home counties ask just two things from it’s mambers. A bit of your time and an open mind.

One such band is ENQUIRE WITHIN, and like fellow LMC members, Worship The Sacrifice who’s EP I covered earlier, this groove infused five piece cause all the right kinds of ruckus in concert.
Of course, being a solid live act is one thing, but having a healthy catalogue of good tunes is just as important.

Which brings us to DOOMSDAY PROFIT, their third studio album and first extended release since the 2024 EP, Elysium.
Often referred to as a metalcore band, what ENQUIRE WITHIN offer is more layered than that. Their’s is a complex hybrid amalgamated into a melodic and powerful whole. And not only in style, the album has substance that blends high profile spit and polish with dirt in the blue collar attitude.

With the eponymous opener and follow up track, CRUMBLE AND FALL, we hear a band eager to push their own envelope. This is cemented further with the gothic intro to SCORCHED EARTH, that soon leads into a blitzkreig of blazing blasts and bullish bravado. Vocally, this song gives singer JACOB all the right ingredients to push his scale, from torrid grit to searing warmth in the chorus.

This trick follows on HOLLOW and BLOOD AND RUST, and possibly the closest to metalcore songs you’ll get on the album, with some cool chord structures and leads.
The closing trio of tracks give the thrash treatment while keeping ENQUIRE WITHIN’s meodic slant, with SANCTUM and HOOKS having some cool clean vocals scattered about.

DOOMSDAY PROFIT is another insight into London’s metal melting pot, and even the UK’s attitude to get the best out of everything from anywhere. It’s a hard ask to keep a band going and make a living off it. That and maintain a coalition of metal lovers for no more than the love of it
We all do this for the love. Whether you play and/or listen to it, buy it, turn up to a gig, wear the t-shirt or write about it.
With this album, there’s little not to love.

DOOMSDAY PROFIT is out now and available on major streaming sites.
