Nottingham… a mecca of metal for many years, as the original home of Earache Records, legendary venues, and some really nice bushes to sleep under right next to the Castle when you miss the train home…. anyway, we will save that for another day… Nottingham is also the home for the fabulous Mangata Festival and it returns this summer for a second year, here’s the press release that gives you all the details…
Nottingham heavy music festival returns for a second year.
Mangata Festival, returns for a second edition on the 15th July, bringing 15 artists over two stages to its new home of Rescue Rooms on Goldsmiths Street.
Headline artists Heart of a Coward and Mastiff are joined by special guests, Raging Speedhorn with support from the likes of Red Method, Tuskar, Harbinger, Godeater and Sugar Horse. Also appearing on the line up include local bands a-tota-so, Azazel, Draconian Reign and Outergods. (and don’t forget our pals Hellfekted & Thrasherwolf – editor)
Local pub, the Tap & Tumbler, which is a staple in supporting Nottingham’s underground alternative music scene, will host a free entry stage, featuring Hundred Year Old Man, Master Charger and Reckoner, amongst others.
After a successful first edition, we’re beyond excited to see Mangata Festival return for a second year. This event is the product of our passion for heavy music, and we’ve curated a line up which we believe reflects the immense talent the UK alternative music scene has to offer.Laura Pearson – Organiser
Mangata Festival takes place on the 15th July 2023.
