Live albums…. or just live tracks in general, they can either sound amazing and capture the essence of the live experience… or they can be absolutely shocking and sound like they’ve been recorded on a 1980’s dictaphone from the pub toilets…
Fortunately for our Northern Irish friends Acid Age, their ‘Live Over Belfast’ album features 7 tracks of the former! Recorded in The Limelight, Belfast back in December 2023.
The 7 tracks feature tracks from their previous Roman inspired War Jazz opus ‘Semper Pessimus’ as well as a couple of cheeky little bangers from their next studio album ‘Perilous Compulsion’

All in all it shows the boys of really well, musically as tight as a ducks arse, with Jude’s vocals maintaining a thick and gravely sound that actually sounds somehow more natural than on the studio releases… add to that a bit of between song crowd work and human interaction it’s very clear to see why the lads made it to Bloodstock via M2TM last year and have been invited back again for 2024 (it’s that or they have compromising photos of Simon Hall in stockings and high heels…)
It’s available now on all the streaming platforms or head over to BandCamp and part with a couple of shillings for a fine bit of live thrash!!
