Don’t be nasty…. eat a pasty!! The Dark Cookie checks out the new single from out mates from the south west….

I do not associate the West Country with face-melting, manically moshing metal thrashing mad bastards who can produce a gloriously filthy noise like MECHANIZED have with their filthy new single, “Lethonomia”. But the land of the pastie and cream teas have done us proud.

If this band were good enough to win the West’s Metal To The Masses in 22 it really should not be a shock I suppose that they can produce something this good.

What immediately gave me a tingle in places we shall not mention was the wicked bass and drums combo from Rohanand Dave which got the track underway.  An underused intro to a song in my book! But not to be outdone Dom and Andy P’s guitars just say “whatever you can do we can do riffingly”.  And then throw on top of the pile the gruff and guttural, yet clear growl from Andy G is the icing on this Thrashing tasty treat.

Lyrically the song is deep, its roots in Greek Mythology, and I’ll leave you to find out what the song is about in your own time, for now, just revel in the majesty of a seriously well executed groove laden Thrashing beast!  Now! MECHANIZED move on to their debut album in ’24, I for one cannot wait!

Now, as the lads are from Devon and Cornwall perhaps, we can get an answer to the most important question.  Is it Jam first or Cream first?
