With an introduction of atmospheric eeriness accentuated by distorted demonically incoherent voices chant their dark sermon as they summon the full force of Under Blacken Skies into the world with an exploding blast of drums and earth shattering guitars. A long scream overlays the barrage of brutality like A demon screaming in victory at its emergence.

Under Blackened Skies are back and theyre not breaking us in gently!

The first verse offers a neat riff with well executed vocals bouncing between the spaces. The drums bring more ferocity towards the end of the verse with intermittent blasts and double kicks alternating and creating a more interesting listen.

The chorus kicks in with gorgeous melodic leads and creates a huge bright cavern of deathly cadence. I double take as the thought comes to my head, this sounds like a fusion of Killswitch Engage and Children of Bodom and it’s f**king awesome!

The quality of the production is clear in verse two. You can hear each element and the guitar tone is superb. I only wish the bass was pushed up more but the sound achieved in this mix is massive.

After the second chorus, with enlarged heart and emboldened resolve we face a bridge section with bouncy riffs that develop into a long blast beat moment that obliterates your ears like a machine gun before releasing it’s cruel grip on you and bathing your wounded mind in a short atmospheric moment before throwing you back into the chorus to be revived again and ready to mosh your heart out.

A blazing solo and blasting drums raise you off the ground as the end draws near and in the final moments you remember that this is the beginning of Under Blackened Skies return and there is plenty more music of this caliber still yet to come!

I really really love listening to this song. I enjoyed the structure of the song which kept the listening interesting and not predictable. That chorus played enough times to satisfy the soul yet still made me want to hit the replay button. The overall tone and sound you’ve achieved is excellent. The guitar tones, vocal approach, drum patterns and quality of the mix and master are just all on point!

If this is your comeback then i can’t wait to hear what you have in store for us! This makes me ever the more excited to be seeing the band live in the near future!
