CONJURER – Underworld, Camden – 12th November 2025 (Live review)

A review by Gioia –

Conjurer’s homecoming at The Underworld felt big, intense, and emotional, yet refreshingly relaxed. I’d seen them in Paris, but London had a different glow. Back home, they looked fully at ease and completely in sync. The new third‑album material leans in some different directions, and on stage those ideas clicked hard. Controlled yet unpredictable, it moved seamlessly while keeping that raw spark. Their last album, Unself, set the bar high, and they showed they are pushing beyond it.

What really stood out was the chemistry. The two vocalist setup adds real depth, trading lines and layering screams, building tension and then breaking it wide open. It keeps the set alive from start to finish. The band moved as one, reading each other and the room, and the bass player was the livewire all night, constant motion, rallying the crowd, and finally in the pit by the last song.

Highlights for me were Choke and Rot, both landing like gut punches, the crowd surging as the band tightened the screws and then let everything fly. And The Searing Glow was the standout of the new material for me: a powerful strike that blooms with each tempo shift. The way it accelerates and eases back gives the song room to grow on you, and live it hit even harder, heavy and commanding, with big vocals front and centre and an outstanding bass performance that drove the dynamics.

Verdict: a powerful, moving return from one of the UK’s most compelling heavy bands. Intense, emotive, and confident, Conjurer looked ready for the next rung up. If there is any justice, this is the moment they step fully into the spotlight. A great gig, and a reminder that it is their time to shine. This performance gets a 9 out of 10 from me!
