DESECRATOR – Invoking Thy Eternal Reign Of Torment (EP) Review

A Review by Gioia –

Desecrator, the UK death metal band that started as a solo project, has unleashed their first EP—and it makes a memorable impact. The opening track, “The Kingdom Will Crumble,” immediately sets an epic atmosphere, drawing you in from the very first note. The band’s sound is raw and heavy, and the transitions into melodeath riffs are thoroughly intoxicating.

The drumming throughout the EP is impeccable, and the interplay between melodic guitar lines and death metal aggression gives the release a distinct identity. Notably, some sections in certain songs have a lo-fi, tape-recorded quality, which adds a rare, nostalgic charm not often found in contemporary releases.

“Within this Shadow Bleak” is undoubtedly my favourite track on the album, combining fast thrash riffs with pure death metal elements for a brutal and thrill-filled listen.

The artwork is also worth mentioning: it’s majestic, dark, and epic—the perfect visual match for a death metal album.

I give ‘Invoking Thy Eternal Reign Of Torment’ 9 macerated bodybags out of
